With over 35 schools offering nursing programs, Kansas is a leader in the forefront of easing the United States' nursing shortage. The importance of nursing worldwide, especially in times of crisis, is causing concern with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN.) With the help of schools, policy makers and kindred organizations, the hope is to expand enrollment levels to match rising demands. At Kansas Wesleyan, students enrolled in the nursing program gain experience in the growing Salina medical community. Together, they help save lives and nurture new ones.

There have been numerous anti-abortion activists who have made threats against Dr. George Tiller, Wichita abortion specialist, but none have gone as far as Scott Roeder.
Scott Roeder, 51, was found guilty of gunning down Dr. Tiller in May of 2009 in the foyer of Reformation Lutheran Church.

The taxi company knows you by first name and instead of you calling them daily, they have started calling you to check on your schedule for the day and when you'll be needing a lift downtown. Yeah, this is definitely getting old. Or, even worse, waiting at the bus stop, in freezing weather just to make the affordable trip to point B.
