Issue date: 9/22/06 Section: Movie Review
Throughout the course of the summer we watched some of the most-anticipated movies and put together our list of top ten films. Thank you to Dickinson Theatres of Central Mall for helping us with our reviews! We hope that you'll share our love for movies with us throughout this semester and the rest of the year.

The Break Up
Aaron: This was an interesting movie. It wasn't afraid to show both the ups and the major downs of a relationship.
Priscilla: I didn't expect the ending, but it made the movie real. Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn were very good in it-and it also starred Vincent D'Onofrio, which made me happy. The arguments were kind of scary sometimes, but overall it was extraordinarily funny and a good film.
Cars
Aaron: I was afraid that this was going to be completely childish, but I found that it was extremely inspiring and thought provoking. Recently we used the advice of that movie and took some of the back roads to get to Lindsborg by taking 9th all the way there. The scenery was beautiful.
Priscilla: So I totally thought this would be corny, pointless, and plot-less-but it was amazing. The animation was beautiful (especially the scenery!), the characters were wonderful, and the voice talent was perfect. This is the first Disney movie I've enjoyed since "Finding Nemo".
The Lake House
Aaron: This was an extremely interesting movie with bends and twists that made you wonder what all was going on. It made you wonder if this could really happen, and if it could, would you wait?
Priscilla: Oh I cried. What a beautiful movie. One of our very close friends said that the plot "stressed her out the whole time" and I have to say I agree with her. I was squirming in my seat the entire time. Yet, I thought that made the ending even sweeter. Hands down, this was my favorite romantic movie of the year.
Click
Aaron: I thought this was a good movie, but I didn't think that the emotion was there like it should have been. I understand, going from deep comedy to complete emotion is a bit difficult, but I wish that Adam Sandler would have worked on emotional acting before he made the movie. The tears from many of the actors and the crying just didn't work out.
