Man of the Year is a must see
Mizells at the movies
Priscilla and Aaron Mizell
Aaron: "WHOA!!! Slow down a little at the beginning! I cannot hear a word of what you are saying; it's coming out of your mouth so fast!" Those were the words running through my mind as I ran to catch up with the rest of the joke so that I'd understand the final part that you're supposed to laugh at. The movie was also very fast paced at the beginning. He was up and elected in a matter of no time and then the movie slows way down and then speeds up a little at the end. All in all-an amazing movie and I'd tell you to go watch it. If you watch it on your television, turn on the subtitles at the beginning so that you can get every joke. You'll love it-and, again I'll say, it is a must see.
Priscilla: This film is truly amazing--suspenseful, humorous, intriguing, honest, inspiring-having all the qualities of a great movie. Judging from the previews, I was expecting a wonderfully funny film worthy of Robin Williams, but I in no way expected the action, scandal, or drama which was involved. There is a whole entire aspect to the plot which commercials don't even allude to, which makes the movie even more exciting when you see it. The cast is spectacular and the dialogue is superbly written. We just may have to buy this one when it comes out on DVD!
The Marine
Priscilla: This movie isn't bad but it wasn't great either. Action movies aren't really my thing, but I still found this to be entertaining. The violence is tastefully done as well; nothing too gory, and in many cases just a hint of what was happening. It wasn't one of my favorites, but we did hear from one of our friends (a devoted fan of John Cena) that she loved the film. So, if you watch WWE RAW, as she does, you'll probably enjoy this movie.
Aaron: Acting was-well-crappy at the beginning. I think this was because John is used to playing the mad guy, not the sentimental husband sort of guy. So it takes off the moment they torque his chains from side to side a bit. Overall, I wouldn't really say this was that great a movie, but it was definitely a great fighting movie-when there is fighting that is.
The Prestige
Aaron: Wow, you know me-I can usually catch the twists, but there were a few that slipped by me. You may be asking yourself, "a few twists?" That's because there were hundreds of twists altogether. Crazy, crazy, crazy movie! I could not help but mourn for both sides, but at the same time, I couldn't really root for either side either. It was a very confusing movie, making your mind never fully choose who to like or who to deem the villain. At the end you pretty much go with both of them being the villain-or all three. Laugh Out Loud-you'll have to watch the movie to understand what that means.
Priscilla: This movie is absolutely wonderful. Not only is it about magic and the world of magicians, but it can also stand for the pitfalls of pride and the danger of holding grudges. The cast is simply phenomenal and the plot held me spell-bound. I didn't see the twists coming from a mile away. My only issue with the film was its tendency to jump around a bit-sometimes I had to ask Aaron to figure out exactly when and where the setting was taking place. Yet, even with that, I definitely recommend this movie.
