Due to the popular demand and an anticipated full house, attendance to one of Salina's oldest continuous Christmas worship services now requires tickets. Although admission to Kansas Wesleyan University's Christmas by Candlelight is free, tickets will be required to assure that enough seats will be available for those attending.
Christmas by Candlelight is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. December 10 in Sams Chapel. The concert will feature more than 120 musicians, including the Kansas Wesleyan University Philharmonic Choir, Sacred Heart High School Nightingale, Ellsworth Singers, and members of Salina Symphony.

Last year, the annual Christmas by Candlelight service attracted a record attendance of more than 1000 people, leaving only 30 empty seats in Sams Chapel. According to Ken Hakoda, Kansas Wesleyan Choral Music Director, the University choir has grown to more than 70 persons, nearly doubling in size over the last five years.
"We want to avoid turning away anyone who comes to our service," Hakoda said. "Having tickets will assure audience members that they have seats."
