Happy Feet
Aaron: A simply delightful movie that touches your heart. We'll have to buy this when it comes out on DVD. I was happily surprised at how much I liked it since my expectations were set really high. The characters and plot are extremely adorable and moving, and the music was amazing. Wow!
Priscilla: This movie was absolutely wonderful! The characters are darling and Robin William's Loveless and Ramon cracked me up. Lately, animated movies have been succeeding at building awesome plots and this is no exception. And since it is a DreamWorks film, the animation is strikingly beautiful. I found it especially interesting that they tied in actual people for a more realistic effect. The only characteristic that puzzled me is that Mumble never loses all of his fluff-it's not essential to the storyline or anything, but it's just a little quirky.
Borat
Priscilla: The shock value of this film is insane. I did laugh throughout the film, but not for the movie's wit or cleverness. Occasionally I will quote a line or two ("What kind of dog is this?"), but this is in no way a movie I would take my parents too. Borat is so obscene and offensive that I personally wouldn't recommend it, but it is somewhat funny.
Aaron: Considering that the only reason you laugh is because you can't believe how far he goes, this really isn't that great of a movie. When you realize that he's doing this to real people it almost makes you sick.
Casino Royale
Aaron: I liked this movie even though it had some-how do you say?-major problems. For example, Casino Royale is supposed to be the beginning of James Bond, yet all of the technology and fashion is from today. The filmmakers don't even try to hide it. Instead, they work part of the movie in so convincingly (like "July 2006" plainly printed on a security tape) that you believe all of the other 007s could have easily come afterwards. Besides that, this would be my personal favorite James Bond because of how much it had to offer.
Priscilla: I was happy to find the new James Bond, Daniel Craig, to be just as good (if not better!) than Pierce Brosnan. The plot was thrilling and the characters were wonderfully diverse. Every aspect of this movie was awesome--even the credits were artistically creative. It was interesting to see how 007 became the way he is
