Brad Anderson, the Department of Art Chair was the juror of the art show. Out of the 250 pieces of art ninety-six received blue ribbons, 118 were awarded red ribbons, and thirty-six received white. "I am pleased with the hard work of the students, with so many demands and the complexity of choices in today's world." Said Anderson
The art on display includes still life, surrealism, abstract expressionism, and figure-study themes. The sizes of the pieces on display range in size from wall hang-ups to floor displays. Most of the work was done by students from local high schools.
"What I hope most is that the artists, teachers, parents, students, and other who view the show, find something that speaks to your heart and your mind." Said Anderson
Some of the high schools that submitted art were Salina Central, South high school, and Sacred Heart. Most of the art is group together with other pieces of art from the same school. The different themes and pieces create a unique set up for the current art show. The show will run through March, 7 Monday-Friday during school hours.
