The Kansas Wesleyan University track and field team is off to a great start early in the new season. With two indoor meets already completed so far, the "Runnin' 'Yotes" are looking very promising and are headed for a very successful season under third year Head Coach Zach Kindler.

After winning the KCAC in women's cross country, Kindler is looking to continue his success from the course to the track and hopes to be competitive this year in the KCAC. Leading the way so far this year for the ladies is Sarah Williams, who was also named to the all-KCAC team in cross country and is continuing her success on the track, and returning thrower Amy Waterman who is looking to continue her success on the throwing ring. Also standing out this season for the lady Coyotes are Kara Walker who is coming off cross country season very strongly and has made her place on the team as a middle distance runner and new comer sprinter and hurdler Vicki Kennedy.
The men are looking to have just as much success this season as the ladies hope to have. Leading the way this year for the men is new comer sprinter Mark Winkel who has already established himself early this season as a top sprinter and is looking to continue his success during outdoor season. Also leading the men's side is returning distance runner Gabe Russell who is looking to set the pace the for distance team this season.

The track and field team has already competed in two indoor meets this season, the first at the Charlie Foster Invite at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and the second at the Scottie Invitational at Highland Community College in Highland Kansas and have shown success at both meets against NCAA Division-II and other NAIA schools.

The KWU track and field team looks to complete their indoor season within the next two weeks by returning to Kearney and then traveling to Lincoln Nebraska on February 16th, and then is set to begin their outdoor season, beginning in mid-March.
