This marks the fifth year that Hottman and Anderson have shown together. A majority of this year's show is derived from the landscape with a couple of Hottman's works exploring non-objective subjects. Some of Hottman's themes are part of a continuing series about different aspects of the earth. Anderson commented, "While the individual content of each painting is different, Bill's work holds together in a unified whole."
Anderson's work features images of the prairie that he has collected over the last year. "I have work in this year's show taken in Saline, Lincoln, Ottawa, and Russell counties. The subtlety and beauty of the great plains has been an influence since I was in high school." Most of Anderson's photographs are straight but a few have been layered and altered by using computer graphic programs.
Both artists will be available to answer questions and discuss their work. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9a.m.-9p.m. and weekends by appointment.
