The Coyote men have had a rough start to the season, but are bringing it together at the right time. The Coyotes have 4 wins and 11 losses overall and are 1-1 in conference play thus far.
On the other diamond, the Lady Coyotes are slugging their way to victory. The KWU softball team is off to a booming start to the season with 7 wins and just 2 losses. In these nine games, the Coyotes have hit 12 home runs, two of which have been Grand Slams. Ashley Coker is leading the Lady 'Yotes in slugging, as she has hit 5 of the 12 home runs.
To the question of "Why do you think you girls are starting off with such intensity?" Junior Amiee Dobbins replied, "We are a hard-working team, and work together very well on the field no matter what happens off." She added, "It was a rough start due to losing our coach in the first semester, but we have come together as a whole and have the mentality that we can win."
The Lady Coyotes began conference play Thursday with a game against Friends University. The ladies, as well as the men, look to bring home many conference victories and get conference play off with a bang.
