The KWU Track and Field team has just completed the indoor season and is now in training to prepare for outdoor season, was set to kick off Thursday at Southwestern College in Winfield.

The Coyotes were well represented throughout indoor season on both the men's and women's sides. For the ladies, it was Amy Waterman qualifying for the NAIA indoor National meet in the shot put with a mark of 42 feet, 5.25 inches thus also breaking the Kansas Wesleyan School record of 41', which was previously set by Waterman back last season. According to David Toelle on the KWU track and field page, "Waterman's mark also placed her 17th best overall this season in Indoor track this year."

In addition to Waterman's qualifying throw, personal indoor bests were also set on the women's side. In the 600m it was Kara Walker, who set a personal best with a time of one minute, 37.74 seconds at the Charlie Foster Invitational back on January 28th in Kearney, NE. For the distance team, it was Sarah Williams setting the pace with an 800m time of 2:36.73, set back on February 3rd, at The Scottie Open in Highland, KS and a 3200m time of 12:25.03 at the Charlie Foster invite.
