A room full of students, faculty, and community members were in attendance when Wichita CSI's Sarah Geering was on hand to inform people about her job as a member of a CSI unit.
"There are a lot of differences between my job and the T.V. show" Geering said, she continued, "For one, I don't drive a hummer."
The presentation by Geering included topics like DNA analysis, interesting cases, high profile cases, cold cases, and new technology in her field.
The KWU's Corpus Juris invited Geering to the school for the presentation. "We were able to get her because she is a former student here, she has connections with current professors and next year we are planning a trip down to Wichita to go see her," said Corpus Juris President Shannon Pantoja.
One of the high profile cases that Geering worked was the Kansas serial killer "BTK."
Besides being a high profile case this was also one of the top cold cases ever solved. Geering explained the behind the scenes details of her job and how the majority of her days are spent in the lab.
Geering stated, "I love my job. I had a degree in this field, and it's been a great use of my schooling and at the same time I'm helping the community."
