The loss of a starting athlete can be devastating to a team, but, with the major hole left in the Coyote offense, it may be hard to rebound. Former starters Darrel Grames, Marcus Lowe, DeChad Ward, Russell Simon, Drew Phillips, and Justin Schropp have all left because of graduation or conflicts of interest.
Schropp found himself debating whether to stay on the team after Head Coach Dave Dallas brought in transfer Quarterback Drew Dallas from Fort Hays. Drew has spent the last three seasons on the NCAA Division - II Fort Hays State football team where he played in five games.
Schropp felt that he wouldn't be needed as much this season, and thought that leaving would be his best decision for the future. Schropp has been entertaining offers from other KCAC teams such as Bethany, Bethel, and Tabor. "I am keeping my options open, but right now I'm worried about helping the Coyotes on the Golf Course," he noted.
The Coyote football team will be hoping for great performances out of either Brad Manning or Drew Dallas to replace the more than one thousand yards of total offense posted by Schropp last season. No matter who is the starting quarterback, the team is eager to get next season started off right against Bethel.
