During the Spring semester of 2007, the Coyote men's soccer team has sent three seniors to try out for, and experience, the A-League atmosphere.

A-League is a semi-professional league in the United States that is just one step under major league soccer, the MLS.
In the past few months, KWU seniors Trey Thompson, Joel Gunterman, and Raphael Nzunga have attended many tryouts across the United States. For the past three weeks, Joel Gunterman has been traveling back and forth to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, trying out for the Harrisburg City Islanders. During the week from March 26 to March 31, Gunterman was in Pennsylvania trying his luck at the Islanders' training camp. Gunterman was one of eight players, out of about 50, to make it into training camp.

"It was one of the most memorable moments in my life. It was a lot of fun, and I hope this is just a start to my career," Gunterman said.

Trey Thompson and Raphael Nzunga spent the weekend of March 23rd in Minnesota, trying out for the Minnesota Thunder. Thompson said, "All my life, soccer has been everything, and I have always wanted to play professionally; this is just one step into the direction I want to go." Thompson and Nzunga made it to the last day of tryouts, but did not make the team. "We played well, but the team already had a full roster."
