This is our last movie review with The Advance as we will be graduating next month. We wanted to take the time to thank you all for reading our reviews over the past three semesters and to thank Central Mall 10 Theatre for making this article a possibility. We have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the newspaper staff, sharing our film opinions, and receiving feedback from you. It has been our pleasure to be part of your lives.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Aaron: This was a good movie to go to if you were a TMNT fan as a kid, which many of us guys were. All of the good against evil, mortals against robotics, and so on and so forth-this definitely made for a nostalgic movie. It made me long for the more simple days of my childhood when everything truly felt black and white. I found this an extremely entertaining movie for both children and adults and loved the animation!
All in all, this was a very well-made movie with a great story to boot. It most certainly gets a thumbs-up from me. But, then again, I'm biased because of its connection to my past.
Priscilla: Surprisingly, I also really enjoyed this film. I had never seen the television show, but this movie did a wonderful job of introducing the story and characters without boring the long-time fans with a lengthy outline. I laughed and had a great time. If you're looking for a clean, fun flick, I definitely recommend TMNT.
Blades of Glory
Priscilla: I went to this moving expecting a "laugh riot" with Will Ferrell and Jon Heder as the leading roles, but I left a little disappointed. As far as movies go, this is pretty funny, but not nearly as hilarious or quote-worthy as Anchorman, Elf, or Napoleon Dynamite. If you're searching for a silly film, this is an amusing one to see, but it isn't Will Ferrell's best.
Aaron: Well, how can I say this? Dumb for the most part, but an OK movie if you just want something fun to watch. It was entertaining, but just didn't tickle my fancy like I thought it would, being a Will Ferrell and Jon Heder movie and all. As she said, we left a bit dissatisfied with the movie because we were looking to laugh a lot when we went in. I've found that Will has about six routines and a short supply of the same jokes in just about everything he is in, this movie not being an exception.
Perfect Stranger
Aaron: This was not a thriller like I thought it would be. The ending twist wasn't really foreseeable, which is good, but I didn't really care for this much as a movie. The moral of the story is fantastic, that being that there are always consequences to your actions; yet, it just left me with a feeling that there should have been more to it-a little more meat to chew on, I suppose is what
