Bluegrass band to perform Sunday

Members of the local bluegrass group Wires and Wood will be the featured guest artists in the final installment of the 2006-07 Family Concert Series this Sunday, April 22, at 3 p.m. at University United Methodist Church, Santa Fe and Claflin.
The concert is sponsored by the University United Methodist Church and Kansas Wesleyan University, and is open to the public at no charge; however, a free-will offering will be taken. A reception will follow the concert.
Wires and Wood includes Bill Burrows on guitar, mandolin, banjo, and vocals; Don Wagner on guitar, fiddle, dobro, and vocals; Jay Quinn on bass guitar and vocals; Gregg Tanzer on percussion; Dave Ruble on banjo, mandolin, guitar, and dobro; and John Highkin on bass and mandolin.
The Family Concert Series was established for the concert season of 1997-98 in order to maintain and enhance the music program of the University United Methodist Church and the community. The series is funded by individual "underwriters" and by free will contribution at the concerts.
