Rodney Wren has been under investigation by the university for allegedly breaking the university's honor code.

The hearing on the issue, which took place Monday, concluded that Wren did in fact violate the code. Page 22 of the Student Handbook, Statute #6, states "Any action which has the effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual's work or academic performance or creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive working or academic environment" is a violation.
Wren has the chance to appeal this decision.
Wren's sanctions imposed by the university follow:

1) Placed on probation involving SGA and other student organizations or activities until December 2007.
2) 25 hours of community service to be done at the Ashby House.
3) Required meeting with Dr. Kerstetter and Dr. Blackwell.

Some students and faculty have expressed concern that this is a violation of Wren's First Amendment rights. Wren said he plans to appeal the decision.
Wren was found not guilty of plagiarism. (
