I sat down with Janine Strickland, Raphael Nzunga, Ascendra Peters and Trey Thompson to discuss their past few years at Kansas Wesleyan University. Each senior had their own unique memories, experiences, and advice to share.

Kansas Wesleyan has been a "home" to many of us and we have come to connect with the Salina Community. Even though anticipation of May's graduation brings sadness of leaving Salina, graduates are hopeful for their bright futures. Seniors answered the following questions; here are a few of their answers:

What have you been involved in at KWU?
Trey: Men's soccer team & intramural softball, it's been quite a ride.

Janine: I've been involved in SGA, Art Club, and Alpha Chi and each has been a lot of fun.

Raphael: Men's soccer for 2 years, Basketball, my junior year, choir, talent shows with Trey, and intramural basketball and softball.

Ascendra: I've enjoyed playing for KWU women's basketball team.

What is your most memorable moment at KWU?
Janine: When I received the Art Department Leadership Award.

Ascendra: Being recognized for scoring 1000 points and having 500 rebounds on the women's basketball team.

Trey: Being a part of conference championship team & being a 3.0 student!

Raphael: Scoring the only goal for our team in a regional semi-final game in a lost to Bellevue University.
What have you gained while at KWU?
Trey: Close relationship with student and faculty.

Ascendra: The knowledge and skills to survive in the "real world".

Raphael: A degree, of course, and I've gained friendships that may last for an eternity.

Janine: I've gained a lot of great friends.

What advice could you give to future KWU students?

Ascendra: Always be you no matter what!

Raphael: Use your time intelligently, get the work done and most of all have fun along the way.

Janine: Make sure you get enough sleep, because I know I don't.

Trey: Prepare to me a lot of people from all different places.

What are you doing after you Graduate in May?

Janine: I plan on going to Graduate School for my MFA in Drawing and Painting.

Trey: I'll be playing soccer in California for a Professional Development League.

Raphael: I have plans to play pro-soccer but I think I might start grad school right away. Still trying to decide.

Ascendra: Studying for the GRE so that I can eventually go to grad school. That's the plan anyway.

Good luck to all the seniors who are graduating in May. Each and every one of us has wonderful memories to share and many are still making them.
