While most students and faculty members were enjoying there summers away from Kansas Wesleyan, improvements to the University were and still are an ongoing process.
Throughout the next two weeks you will see and continue to see mass improvements to the University's Fine Arts Building. These improvements are being made to the buildings lab facility as well as the video production room.
The downstairs lab in room 122 has been expanded to allow more students access to the usage of the lab. To go along with the expanded room, twenty brand new high quality dell computers will be available upon completion of the renovation.
These computers come equipped with more hard disk and RAM space, as well as Photoshop, in-design, and movie maker upgrades. In addition to this, the computers have built in high quality audio and video cards, as well as firewire, which is capable of a high speed video connection.
This project will not only be beneficial to students, but to faculty as well. "It will be a teaching classroom," said Dr. Jack Morris Associate Professor of Communications. "The additions of a video projector and teachers PC will be very helpful for the advancement of the class."
To go along with the new computers downstairs, the upstairs video production room is now equipped with three new I Mac computers. Video Production instructor Paul Green had this to say of the new I Mac's. "The new I Mac's will be capable of importing high quality videos into the computer." "The idea behind the upgrade is to make it simpler and more user friendly to the students."
Newer computer upgrades were also made to the campus' library and science hall facilities. "Graduates will benefit from upgrades to the facilities," said Green. "I highly encourage students to take advantage of what the University has to offer them."
