Kansas Wesleyan welcomes six professors to the staff. These professors range in backgrounds and degrees. These six are ready to contribute to the growth of KWU's eager students and their educations.

The first to be introduced is Rich¬ard Esvang who enters the school as the Assistant Professor of Com¬munication Studies and Theatre Arts. Esvang earned his Masters degree from Western Illinois University. Prior to working at KWU, Esvang was the founder and artistic director of the Great Plains Theatre Festival in Abilene, Kansas. He lived in New York for several years working as an actor, director, and writer before coming to Kansas. Esvang says that his wonderful colleagues are a big part of the attraction to the position he has accepted this fall, and enthusi¬astically states that "This is the most supportive place [he has] ever worked in [his] life."
Second is our new Assistant Professor of Nursing Education, Patricia Goad. Goad earned her Masters in Family Nursing from West Texas A&M University, as well as her Bachelors of Science for Nurs¬ing from Marymount University, and another for Social Sciences from Kansas State University. She has spent the past 24 years dedicating her teaching and professional experience to hospitals, clinics, and other nursing programs all around Kansas.
Dr. Craig Masters joins the staff as the new Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Dr. Masters earned both his Ph.D. in Mathematics and Phys¬ics and his Masters in Physics at the University of Missouri.

Next is Dr. Chad May who moved from Arkansas in the early wake of summer with his wife Jennifer and two children Isabella, 2 and newborn son Owen. Dr. May took the posi¬tion of Assistant Professor of English and is excited with the smaller, more connective atmosphere that KWU offers. Dr. May earned both his Ph.D. and Masters in English at the Univer¬sity of Oregon, and has a passion for literature and fiction writing.

The new Assistant Professor of HPER is Bryan Minnich who earned his Masters in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition from South Dakota State University. Minnich previously worked as a department chair, profes¬sor, and coach at Central Christian College at McPherson before mak¬ing the switch to KWU. Minnich had two motives that drove him to join the campus staff. The first is for professional reasons as he is cur¬rently working to attain his doctorate. The second is that he wanted to be in a more personal and interactive environment with his colleagues and students.

Lastly, we have the new Associate Professor of Spanish, Dr. Haakayoo Zoggyie. This native of Ghana joins the faculty after earning his Bachelors in Spanish and Sociology from the University of Ghana, his Masters in Hispanic Literatures from the Univer¬sity of Alberta, Canada, and finally his Ph.D. from the University of Cin¬cinnati. Dr. Zoggyie is accustomed to smaller schools, as his university in Ghana had a total of 150 people in the whole school. The attraction to KWU came not only from small numbers, but also the "family-like lifestyle" the professor explained. His experience and new ideas are sure to bring a very cultured outlook in his department.
