The Advance would like to welcome all incoming freshmen as well as transfers to Kansas Wesleyan University. Summer is officially over and school is back in session. Back to the late night cram sessions, weekend parties and yes ladies and gentlemen the delicious cafeteria. For all who return to Kansas Wesleyan we would like to welcome you back as well, we would also like to welcome back the challenge of succeeding. The new school year also brings many new challenges. For many of our sports programs championships are on the horizon. For seniors graduation is their next step. For juniors and sophomores' staying FOCUSED will be their biggest challenge. For freshmen just getting adjusted to college life will be a challenge. Although each student will face different challenges each day staying above water is a huge task. A few tips to over come the se obstacles. Keep a schedule and keep track of your assignments and their due dates. Attend class, although you think your grown attendance still counts in some classes. Take good organized notes they are much better to refer to than chicken scratch. Try not to procrastinate, unless that's your style. As for the social scene don't be afraid to mingle, she / he can only say no! On that note, gentlemen no means no this can also goes for women too. Parties will happen so don't get anxious make sure you handle what's important. Make sure you support your sports teams whether its men's and women's soccer who are both fighting for conference supremacy, or the football team who also looks to dominate the KCAC. In the fall the men's basketball team looks to return to the tournament as KCAC champions. It doesn't matter the sport just support it because the Dawgs are poised to do great things. All in all enjoy your time here have fun smile and make the 2007-2008 year magical.
