The Flick Review
"Stardust"

Michael:
This was a movie worth seeing. Unlike films that we will mention below, this is a film out of which you will not be able to only take quotable lines from it. Nor will you sit around wondering why you are watching the movie other than for the fight scenes. Tristan, the main character, never knew his mother growing up. He tries to win the heart of a girl who thinks that she is too good for him by going into a magical kingdom and retrieving a falling star, but the star's got a 'tude. The plot is solid because there are three separate entities trying to get what they want, and they do not collide until a well-planned and well-timed moment. Not only is it a movie that you should see as soon as the DVD comes out, but also it is one that you will want to sit down and watch straight through.

Jenna:
To begin, this movie boasts an all-star cast including Claire Danes, Sienna Miller, Ricky Gervais, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Robert DeNiro. "Stardust" is a book-made-screenplay for the whole family. With danger at every turn, Tristan must find what he thinks is a fallen star to bring to the woman that he loves. After a mysterious journey through a magical land where nothing is as it seems, Tristan finds that there really is more to life than being in the "in-crowd." This is a movie worth seeing, renting, and even buying.
"Balls of Fury"

Jenna:
In keeping with the tradition of "Dodgeball," "Balls of Fury" takes a low-class ping-pong player and places him in the fast-paced present-day world of professional table tennis. I waled into the theater knowing that there would be a little off-beat humor and quotable lines. But, what I was not prepared for was the pace the plot took. It moved far too fast, not explaining enough details, and seemingly tried to attain a classic comedy status by dropping a few somewhat funny quotes in here and there. My advice is to only rent this if you are desperate to see a fat guy make fun of himself on screen.
