The Coyote Cross Country team ran its first meet of the 2007 season this past Friday, September 9th at the Friends Night Invite hosted by Friends University.
The meet was located at Afton Lake in Goddard, Kan. and featured 11 teams from the NAIA Kansas Conference, NCAA division I and II teams, but despite the competition and the tough course, the 'running yotes' had a great showing to kick of the season with the women placing third overall, behind Cowley College and Big XII conference team Oklahoma State from NCAA Div.

With the 2007 season under way, the Lady Coyotes have started with a bang, holding a 5 wins and 1 loss record in non-conference, pre-season play.
The Lady Coyotes have, for the most part, dominated their competition in every aspect of the game. KWU has only given up three goals in their first six games, which means as a team, their defensive play is incredible.

During the off-season, KWU named Brent Mooney as the new coach, succeeding former coach Donnie Jackson. While Mooney is new to the coaching scene, he is well familiar with Kansas Wesleyan, having played for the tennis team in the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
