The Men's soccer team is now 2-0-1 in KCAC play, (6-3-2) overall, and with their commanding 3-0 victory
over Sterling on Homecoming weekend, the Coyotes have found a way to win.
"It was very hard to find the best of our rhythm due to the weather,
but we were at the right place at the right time to finish our opportunities,"
said Head Coach Mike Dibbini. "In second half, we played a solid defensive game to secure the W."

Coming off their second double-overtime with a tie, the Coyotes were more than ready to find the net and get a result in their favor. The men tied regional powerhouse
Bellevue (Neb.) 3-3 then tied conference rival Bethel 1-1.

The game against Bethel proved to be a battle with six yellow cards and two red cards given by the referee. A late goal by Eric Garcia would tie the Thrashers with 4:02 left in the match. Two overtimes with several opportunities by both teams would end it 1-1. Coyote keeper Robert Carillo would have 8 saves in the game.

On Saturday, the Coyotes came out with a fury and scored three goals within the first half. Center fullback Juan Mundo hit a free kick from nearly 40-yards out and went untouched into the upper corner of Sterling's net. About 15 minutes later, Blake Schwartz hit a pass that Mario Rodriguez would fight for, then turn and shoot to score the second goal of the game.
The final goal would be straight from a Coyote playbook as Brandon Rumore threw-in a ball that would find Jimi Gleason who flicked it over the outstretched arms of the Sterling keeper.

"The boys played very well. They were patient with the ball and got forward when they needed to get forward" said Assistant coach Miguel Ruiz. "We defended set pieces very well, which in the past have been areas of weakness, but that helped us win the game… Wednesday will be a huge game and we need to keep improving and playing the way we are."

The men continue KCAC play on Wednesday when they meet Friends University at home in Martin Stadium at 8 p.m.
