The KWU's offence, defense, and special teams made Saturday and unforgettable homecoming for the Coyotes with their huge 44-14 victory over Southwestern College.
Quarterback Drew Dallas threw a total of 137 yards which resulted in four KWU touchdowns.
By the end of the first quarter, Troy Van Blarcom had kicked a 27-yard field goal, line backer Brandon McGinn had blocked a Southwestern punt which was picked up by Willie Johnson and scored the first touchdown, recovering the ball from a bad Southwestern snap. Wide receiver Marcus Lowe scored another touchdown pass from Dallas, making it 17-0.

With only 4:54 left before half time, Southwestern scored a touchdown at KWU's one-yard line. But that didn't stop the Coyotes from fighting.

Running back Steven Valliere caught the Moundbuilder's kickoff at the 15-yard line and sprinted 85 yards down the field to score a touchdown. Van Blarcom's kick made the score 24-7 by half time.
By the third quarter, KWU would not let down. Dallas had thrown his second touchdown pass to wide receiver Jason Dolan for a total of 24 yards.

With only 2:37 left in the third, Dallas threw another touchdown
pass to Lowe, making it his second touchdown of the game. The defense held their ground and prevented the Moundbuilders from scoring.
The score was 37-7.

During the final quarter of the game, Dallas threw his forth touchdown pass of the game to wide receiver Michael Donald.
By the end of the game, the Coyotes stomped the Moundbuilders with an impressive 44-14 score.

KWU's defensive players Dustin Trimble and Colten Campbell led the team with nine tackles each followed by Matt Case with six tackles.

KCAC's leading rusher Preston
McCorkle led the offence with 81 yards rushing on 20 carries. Valliere completed the game with 53 yards on 13 carries and caught three passes for 42 yards.
KWU's offense finished the game with a total of 324 yards.

"Both offensively and defensively
we played as a unit," said Case. "Me and Dustin Trimble were being shuffled around in positions, but in the end it worked out fine for the defense."

They will be on the road for the next two games, matching up against Ottawa this Saturday, and face Friends on Oct. 13.
