Young is a 20-year-old college student who is working on her degree in Early Childhood Development. The Child Abuse Prevention Services hired Young to work in their Mornings
Out for Moms program.
Mornings Out for Moms is a program that provides free childcare for parents who need a little time to themselves to run errands or tie up loose ends.
The C.A.P.S. organization sponsors
numerous programs and classes to benefit parents.
They offer classes in parenting in the evenings and provide free childcare for all events.
"C.A.P.S. is a great organization to work for. They do a lot of good for a lot of people," says Young.
Young not only works with the Mornings Out for Moms program, but she also helps the Ashby House out with their childcare needs.
On Monday mornings you can find Young watching over children at this charity house while their parents go out and try to find jobs.
Young says that she feels like she is helping these families get back on their feet.
The Ashby House is a place where families can go when they are out of a home.
There are programs at the Ashby House to insure that the families are only there for the minimum amount of time necessary for them to get back on their feet while providing a safe, loving home for the children.
The C.A.P.S organization along with the Ashby House are doing everything they can to help families and parents live better lives. Young is just one of the many people who give their time and resources to help these people who are in need.
