Anytime someone passes a dance team practice, an 8-count can be heard along with a hard working group of dancers led by head coach Jenny King.
That is how the ladies learn what move to do with and without the music.
King can be found on the side of the football field in the afternoon teaching "her girls" as she calls them.
What is different between this year and last year's team, according to King, is that "there are more girls on the team and that leads to more experience on the team.
There aren't any girls on the team that have never danced in a studio or on another dance team. It's very different from last year."
King is now full-time at the university.
She is able to do workouts with the teams at least three times a week.
Plus, with her office in the Student Life Center, she is able to be there for the members on the team.
"I've been dancing since I was 2 years-old," stated King. She has been enjoying it ever since.
Now that she's older, she enjoys coaching and making the girls better.
King said that the easiest thing with the girls is the choreography.
All the girls have danced before therefore, and they at least know a little, if not all, the jargon and basic routines.
"I like how she is easy to appraoch and work with. She works with all of our dance capabilities," senior Mary Michele Ballentine said.
The team has a long season ahead of them. They dance at all the football and basketball games.
"The hardest thing is keeping them excited about the season," stated King.
"We start camp at the end of July, and we will perform all the way until the end of March."
