Kansas Wesleyan Theater students will produce their third annual opera with the help of the Salina Symphony at the historic Stiefel Theater of the Performing Arts in downtown Salina.

"Cavalleria Rusticana" is an Italian Opera about love, passion and betrayal. This opera is a love story and features numerous genres of music. There are ballads, songs and hymns which will be performed by Kansas Wesleyan students and other members of the surrounding community.

KWU sophomore Lauren Zey says that the opera is a shorter show full of "really good music."

The "Cavalleria Rusticana" will feature the biggest orchestra in Kansas Wesleyan Opera history. The Salina Symphony will be providing the musicians for the opera.
Tickets range from $8.00 to $16.00, but Kansas Wesleyan students get a discounted rate of $6.00. The tickets go on sale this week, and performances will be on Nov. 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m.
