Cross Country concluded their season this past weekend in Omaha, Neb. when they competed in the NAIA Region IV meet, hosted by College of St. Mary.

The 'running yotes' competed and prepared throughout the month of October for what is cross country's post season, consisting of the KCAC conference meet and the regional meet the following week.

First, the team competed in the NAIA Mid-States classic, hosted by Southwestern, where the men placed 7th overall and 4th among other KCAC teams in attendance.
The women did not compete due to a restart early in the women's 5k.

Sophomore Paul Minneman led the Coyotes at Mid-States, placing 77th with a time of 28 minutes, 49.85 seconds. Sophomore Mark Winkel finished behind Minneman placing 87th with a time of 28:59.52.

Sophomore Tyler Jensen, Junior Seth Schooley and Senior Gabe Russell completed the men's score for Wesleyan.

Two weeks following the Mid-States meet, Wesleyan's Lady Coyotes placed 2nd and were named the 2007 runner-ups at the KCAC conference meet, while the men placed 5th at Marion Reservoir.

KWU placed five individual runners in the top 15 to earn KCAC individual honors.
For the women, Seniors Jolene Mick, Sarah Williams and Yeleny Torres placed 1st, 5th and 6th to earn all-KCAC honors on the women's side. Winkel and Minneman finished 12th and 15th and earned KCAC honorable mention.

The men did not have any qualify for the national meet; however, Minneman
placed 7th outside of team qualifying, missing the spot by just two places.
Southwestern was the qualifying team in the men's side.

In Omaha, Mick and Williams both qualified for the NAIA National meet, which will be held in Kenosha. Wisc., a course in which Coach Jeff Barker has had experience in, and knows very well.

Mick placed 3rd overall and was the first individual qualifier outside the team.
Williams was the 4th individual qualifier in the women's race.

Park University (Mo.) was the qualifying team for the women.
