Seniors Jolene Mick and Sarah Williams get ready to compete in another cross country meet.

Although Wesleyan did not compete
as a team at the 2007 NAIA national
cross country meet, KWU was represented on the national stage.

Seniors Jolene Mick and Sarah Williams competed and placed in the women's 5k in Kenosha, Wis., placing 64th and 145th respectively.

Mick finished with a time of 18 minutes, 52 seconds and averaged a time of 6:05 per mile, where Williams finished the 5k in 19:34.9 with an average of 6:19 per mile.
Being from of the Chicago metropolitan
area, head coach Jeff Barker has had personal coaching experience at the Kenosha course in the past, tracing back to his days at Calumet College in Indiana.

Prior to the national meet, Mick and Williams placed 1st and 4th overall in the KCAC and were named to the all-KCAC team. Both also placed in the top five of non qualifying teams at the NAIA region meet in
Omaha, Neb.

With the conclusion of the cross country season, the running yotes now look to continue their sucess on the track as they have on the course.

The 2007-2008 track season kicks off with one meet before the Christmas
break on Saturday at K-State where only a handful of athletes will compete and attempt to gain early season marks.

The indoor season will resume after the three week break on Jan. 27 at KU.
