Participants will be making their way to show their support for a candidate
starting around 10 a.m. Feb. 9.
The Salina Journal reported on Jan. 25 that the caucus had created quite a stir at the Saline County Clerk's office.
One substantial matter, including but not limited to registration information,
has dealt with how the overall registration process functions.
"For one thing, the caucuses aren't really elections," contends Salina Journal staff writer Sharon Montague.
Despite the confusing process, there are prospects of a high voter turnout.
In an interview with the Salina Journal on Jan. 24, Kansas Wesleyan University College Republicans President Jeriah Forbes asserted, "We need to break the tradition of low voter turnout here in Kansas, especially among the younger generation."
Kansas, which is often overlooked by presidential contenders, might actually get some attention from the field of hopefuls jockeying for a nomination at their National Convention. Delegates on Feb. 9 - for Republican candidates-will be selected from the caucus process and have chance to represent a given candidate at the party's convention, which will take place later this year.
