"The past few games means a lot to me and my teammates… we play with a lot of passion," said Tierra Baldwin who currently holds the school record in most rebounds per game (20).
The Coyotes have boasted a more offensive statistic, posting up huge numbers on rebounds thanks to a Baldwin effort every game. Current points leader (328), Emily Luckeroth is the only Lady Coyote with a double-digit average at 11.7 points per game. According to teammates, assist and free-throw percentage leader Kaylaen Dittmer has been pivotal to push the team into their late-season win surge.
Most recently, the women had their last home game of the season in the form of senior night on Feb. 23. Seniors Baldwin, Charressa Gray, and Jenn Lee were honored after the 54-41 win over Tabor College.
"Senior night was an excellent way for us to wrap up conference play. We weren't going to allow a loss in our gym with our seniors last home game," said Luckeroth.
Luckeroth would lead the Lady Coyotes with 15 points, while Gray added 12 and freshman point guard LaCole Wilkinson gave 10. This win secured a fifth place finish in the KCAC and a place in the post-season KCAC tournament.
The women go on the road to play No. 4 Tabor at Hillsboro once more. If they advance, the women will play Saturday, March 1 against the winner of No. 1 Sterling and the outcome of Saint Mary and Ottawa.
