Mick finished the fifth in the 5k with a time of 18 minutes, 20.98 seconds, which beats the NAIA national "A" qualifying mark of 18:25.00. Sarah Williams, along with Mick, also met the "A" qualifying mark in the 5k finishing fourth overall with a time of 18:10.58.
"It kind of feels like cross country all over again," says Mick on her run Friday.
Prior to Friday's run, Williams also met the "B" mark in the 3,000m last weekend in Joplin, Mo., placing second overall behind Oklahoma State's Kim Blomkvist and crossing in a time of 10:32.99, just barely missing the "A" standard by .74 seconds.
Amy Waterman was the first to qualify for the national indoor meet for KWU, back on Jan. 25 at the Jayhawk classic held in Lawrence.
Waterman, for the third year in a row, met the "A" mark in the shot put with a throw of 42 feet, 5 inches, just missing her personal best of 42' 5.25 inches set a year ago.
The throw ranks her 12th in the nation and seconnd in the KCAC behind Bethany's Jessica Becker, who is ranked seconnd in the nation.
The Lady Coyotes will leave for the NAIA indoor national championships March 5 and will compete March 6-8 in Johnson City, Tenn.
The rest of the Kansas Wesleyan track and field team concluded its indoor seasons and will be out of action until March 28 when the team will travel to Hays to begin the outdoor portion of the season.
