Kansas Wesleyan students have new opportunities at their fingertips for financial assistance.

Most should have received a heads up in KWU mail boxes, but if not, here are a few facts and tips to get started.

Because early applicants are so important,
the financial department will be giving early birds $20 in cash.

If remembering a PIN is an issue, a quick look-up online at the KWU website should provide the answer.

Act quickly to receive packaged assistance for next year now.

If any questions arise feel free to contact Enrollment and Financial Services in Pioneer Hall room 285,(785) 827-5541 x 1260; ((800) 874-1154 x 1260)).

For students with a 3.0 GPA or higher, the former KWU academic scholarships have been combined with an additional $1500 named awards to create a larger Scholar/Activity
Scholarship.

Each will increase by an additional $1,500, and will continue to be renewable based upon academic standards.

The higher academic standing, the more KWU funds allocated. If interests in academic majors, activities, or athletics change, do not worry. Maintaining a 3.0 GPA will renew the Wesleyan Scholar/Activity Scholarship
until graduation is complete.

For students with less than a 3.0 GPA, a new scholarship has been created and need-based KWU awards have been significantly increased.
The new scholarship is the Wesleyan Scholar/Activity Scholarship award.

It includes, $5,000 per year ($3,000 off campus) for returning students with a 2.750-2.999 cumulative GPA with 15 or more credit hours. It is renewable with a 2.75 GPA.
The early deadline for filling out the FAFSA is tomorrow, March 15.

Qualifications require that all students:
1. Be enrolled for full-time credits at KWU during the SP08 semester and plan to be a full time undergraduate student at KWU in the FA08 semester.

2. File the renewal application for federal student aid (using completed tax information) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and provide the confirmation page to our office by March 15, 2008.
