The Sunday service at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church was on the subject of
following Jesus in a cross-shaped life, titled "Love: The Radical Center."

Pastor Nancy Crowl spoke of this life saying, "Not only should you love God but you should also love your neighbor as yourself. Love is at the core of a cross-shaped life." She continued by expressing our desire to choose who we love. But Jesus says that if you are going to love God with your whole being, love neighbor as yourself because one who does not love your neighbor, whom you have seen, cannot love God, whom you have not seen.

Grand Avenue's mission statement says, "God is calling Grand Avenue to be the community of believers who, empowered by the Holy Spirit, possess a passion for Jesus, a passion for people and a passion for people to know Jesus." In this fashion, Crowl invites all to partake in communion, regardless of age, race, sex or religious affiliation.

Grand Avenue is at 304 West Grand venue and holds Sunday school at 9:00 a.m., followed by worship service at 10:15 a.m. For more information, the church can be contacted at 785-823-6272.
