Mark 11:25-26-"and when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any: that your Father also which is in Heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in Heaven forgive your trespasses."
In order for a family to really, truly
be a family, there are two very important
factors; love, and forgiveness.
College communities are in essence families that are often times made up of small groups of friends.
There are times where people will do us wrong, say something bad about us, or do something to us that may hurt the friendship or family, but in a family, we forgive each other, because we love each other, hopefully.
As we get older, it gets harder and harder to forgive each other because we run into little pesky things like pride and selfishness. In Mark 11:25- 26, Jesus is challenging us to make sure that when we ask for forgiveness, that we have forgiven first, because what right do we have to ask God for His forgiveness if we are harboring malice, hate, or strife against someone who did us wrong?
It is so easy to get in a group of friends, and start badmouthing someone behind his/her back. We should all have forgiving spirits, or attitudes; recognizing that each of us is human; and we all need a little slack sometimes.
So, cut each other some slack and give each other a break; remember, if you are saved by the blood of Jesus, you are all part of a family. Love and forgive one another.
