"Drillbit Taylor"
When two high school freshman nerds, (Nate Hartley and Troy Gentile) are relentlessly bullied by a testosterone-enraged senior, they turn to a low-budget bodyguard to help protect them at school. The only man desperate enough to take the case is a bum who goes by the name of Drillbit Taylor.

Drillbit, (Owen Wilson) proceeds to take the boys under his "wing," show them evasive maneuvers, and manages to sneak away all their money and valuables at the same time.

Made by the same guys who produced and wrote "Superbad," this movie follows a very familiar plotline. I can't tell if it's Owen Wilson's stunning good looks, the hilarious desperateness of the nerds or the Drillbit's witty one-liners that make this movie worthwhile. Whatever it is, everybody in the audience may find something to enjoy about this movie. Just like Drillbit says, "What's the Army always say? Have it your way."

Grade: A

"Shutter"
After a tragic car accident newlyweds Ben and Jane (Joshua Jackson and Rachael Taylor), discover unusual glares on almost all of the photographs they develop. Soon, both individuals begin to have dark visions of a girl in a sinister-looking dress. When Jane discovers that Ben once knew this girl, she must figure out what the spirit desires so she can save herself and her new
husband.

"Shutter" is devoid of anything but shallow characters, any sort of worthy special effects, and has a highly predictable storyline. Yes, this movie was a remake - but the viewer should not have to be constantly reminded that he or she might have seen this somewhere else before. The only positive factor for this movie was the use of creative camera angles. However, it's not enough to redeem this mistake of a remake. "Oh, snap!"
