Music reaches all races, types, and all sizes of people. It touches some people by uplifting them, inspiring them, making them happy when they're sad, or even advising them on how to be.
Let's take a look at how a few selected songs may affect a person's life.
"Lose Yourself" - Eminem
This song was off of the "8 Mile" movie soundtrack and it is based on struggles the rapper faced early in his career. The Grammy award-winning song urges listeners to seize opportunity and not let it pass you by.
"Let's Go" - Trick Daddy Ft. Lil John & Twista
The energetic song that has a guitar loop sampled from Ozzy Osborne's "Crazy Train" and had everyone hooting and hollering in 2004 is the hit single 'Lets Go.' This song has the beat and the rhymes to get any person or crowd hyped. The song still can be heard around the country at most football games, even here at Wesleyan.
"Walk it Out" - Dj Unk
The popular dance song was off of Unk's debut album "Beatin Down Yo Block." The hit record was in heavy rotation in clubs across the US and moved its audience to do the popular southern dance described in the song.
"White & Nerdy" - Weird Al Yankovic
Though it isn't a serious song geared at being considered real music, "White & Nerdy" is a very hilarious song. It is a remake of the highly successful song "Ridin' Dirty" by H-Town rapper Chamillionaire. It's a song that Yankovic does to poke fun at how dorky and nerdy he is.
"We Fall Down" - Donnie Mcclurkin
The gospel single from McClukin's album "We Fall Down" and is an uplifting song that helped those who may have felt that they couldn't go on and do any good after all of the wrong they had done. This song moved people to never give up on lifeafter mistakes they may have made in the past or in the present.
"How to Touch a Girl" - Jojo
The smash single from Jojo's album "The High Road" was geared to guys out there who didn't know how to treat their lady friend. It was a good song that everyone enjoyed and offered great advice for the guys.
These are just a few songs to illustrate
the many ways that music can affect you. I'm Sir Coop and this has been your Inside Scoop. Keep music alive. Peace.
