Jeremiah 6:14-"They have healed also the hurt of my people slightly, saying,Peace, peace; when there is no peace."

As little children, we often fell and scraped our knees; and if our mothers were like June Cleaver, they kissed them and made them feel better.Sometimes, they covered it with a Band-Aid. Our grandpas probably said something along the lines of "Throw some dirt on it, it will be fine." Either way, we made felt better; but that didn't take away the wound.

Throughout history, Israel, God's chosen nation, has been, in a way, separated from the world. In nearly every part of Israel's history, somebody was at war with them; also,
in throughout its history, somebody has been on their side. At this point in history, we are drawing closer tofulfilling the prophecy of the end of the world. The book of Jeremiah is filled with prophecy about the end times.

One of these prophecies deals with the world's response to Israel. The general idea is that people will start to take sides. However, there are those people who do not take sides, they cry for peace. After the rapture the Bible says that Israel will sign a seven-year peace treaty. The peace treaty is the world saying "Peace, Peace;" but there will be no peace.

After three years, the peace treaty will
be broken and they will find that there
was no peace to begin with. Where are we today? Are we covering up the wounds in our lives?

Do we believe that peace is a lack of stress; do we think that a drink of delight makes us feel better? This is the age in which we live, where everything is covered by "Band-Aids."

We are all saying "Peace, peace"-in the days of the Cleavers, Neosporin did not exist, and wounds did not heal by the covering of Band-Aids. Today, we have antiseptic ointment which does heal the wounds. We need to stop saying "Peace, peace," rip the Band-Aid off, and pour on the Love of Jesus Christ to heal our wounds, because without the Love of Jesus, all we are doing is saying "Peace, peace" when there is no peace.
